Troop Advancement

Scout Rank Advancement

Scouts work on their rank advancements individually, but with the full support of the Troop scouts, adult leadership, and their parents/guardians.

Scouts primarily work through their Scoutbook during their Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class ranks. As a scout learns and then masters each new skill, they can have any First Class, Star, Life, or Eagle Scout test mastery and sign-off the completion of the skill development.

Once a scout completes all the requirements for their current rank advancement, they will need to request a Scoutmaster Conference, and then a Board of Review.

Merit Badges

Scouts can start earning merit badges at any point during their scouting journeys. Many merit badges can be earned at summer camps, but a few can only be earned through participation in troop camping trips and personal time used to complete the merit badge requirements.

Merit badges are earned with the guidance and conversations with an authorized and trained Merit Badge Counselor. Before beginning any merit badge, the scout will need to contact a Counselor and request a “Blue Card” be pulled (we do this electronically now) and the Counselor/scout partnership will be entered in ScoutBook.
